then imported and was using Media Composer v.6 Additionally, after troubleshooting files and re-importing I stumbled upon a AMA Unable to provide sample error, which I found to be linked to Perian installed on my mac. Apparently the previous editor did this and converted the 29.97 media to 24p ProRes Files. So I transcoded with Adobe Media Encoder the H.264 Files into ProRes HQ MOV's. The main was because AVID wouldn't relink to media that was 29.97 H.264 MOV directly from the 5D Mark III. There were two reasons why the footage wasn't relinking. Its messy but it might get you out of a hole. AMA linking to files in this directory would not be a supported workflow.įinally if all else fails - drag the master clips you got in your media tool into a new bin - export them same as source to a QTref file and then batch import them into your old master clips. Drag the master clips into a bin and see if the originals come back on line. Also use MDV_avid to see if somehow your media files have become orphaned from the project name.If not try this - use the Avid media tool and choose to look at master clips only for that project and that drive. Sometimes it pays to rebuild the database prior to doing this.

The correct method is to either use the relink tool - highlight the offline media that is in your bin that you know is in the AMF directory, use all available drives etc and see if it relinks - make sure you turn off link to only hi res media/relink only to media from this project etc - try the widest possible net. In my project bin, the footage is just listed as said "clipname" with out the added AVID ending. If I look in the MXF folder, I can see the AVID created media that came with the project. Someone with advise please help, I don't have a support contract and two days of searching through answers is long enough.

Is there a manual selection option or a way to foce avid to just pick the *** file? Thus far my only progress has been to export an AAF and relink media in Premiere Pro, blah, but at least I can recover the original files in my timeline. I imported a file, made it offline, and tried to relink it to get back online again, and it couldn't find the file. Not to mention the relink functionality on my machine doesn't at all. What's going on here? I can't relink media to master files that are clearly on my drive.

I can't install AMA MXF plugin because this version is supposed to already come with it and Quicktime AMA's are supposed to be built in. So I modified and created all new 29.97 sequences in a 29.97 project, but I still can't transcode AMA footage nor import anything without the quicktime wrapper error. How did this happen ? It's as if going from 6.0 to 6.5 this project is now changing frame rates. This is odd, the original clip is 29.97 and so was my timeline. In my project bin I selected the offline media clip and "get info", to see that is says that my timeline is 23.94 and the clip is 23.94. If I import the original file from the camera (Canon 5D Mark III) I get a, avid isquicktimefile could not create qtwrapper Problem with AMA Quicktime., I even imported the AMA and tried to transcode it into my projects settings, but a different, but similar error message would appear and Media composer crashed. So I tried to link to AMA, whcih brings in a new file, but does not relink the media. #1 the project was not created by me, it was given to me on a external hard drive, which was eventually given back after the projects completion and all data was copied (improperly into my main Avid MediaFiles folder. In running down my checklist I discovered some odd issues. All media databases were rebuild, folder structures are correct. I first tried everything including a fresh install of 6.5.4 (I started with 6.5.3) and then tried everything again. It was pumped out of 6.0.2 on the same machine that I have now, but on a different hard drive.

For two days now I have been trying to reconnect assets in a project that was last opened and modified Jan 2013. I swear I have tried it all so clearly I am doing something wrong.
